Engine Repair and Maintenance In Burnaby, BC

Radiator Repair

It is inevitable that the tanks in the radiator will eventually crack given the high engine temperatures. When the radiator is replaced, the thermostat and any necessary radiator hoses should also be replaced, and the system should be cleaned out of all old coolant to remove any impurity. Changing the coolant every 40,000-65,000 km is a good practice. Follow the service scheduled maintenance provided by the manufacturer to get the coolant replaced at regular intervals. Replacing the coolant will ensure it is free of contaminants such as corrode or scale that can choke it from flowing through the radiator and engine.

Spark Plug Replacement

spark plugs that are worn enough to cause engine-misfiring have the possibility to cause overheating of the catalytic converter and engine damage. If the engine misfires or runs inefficiently, the plugs must be examined for defects regardless of the age of the plugs or mileage. In general, spark plug failure will not keep the engine from running, but in cases of extreme wear, you may experience a limitation in the speed at which you can drive the car. If the maintenance schedule suggests the plugs should be changed, it is best to do so on time.

Engine Flush

The mechanic will remove the old oil, pour engine cleaner into the engine, which is then gently left for a few minutes to make sure the cleaning agent reaches everyplace oil would normally go. After that, the chemicals are drained and new oil is poured in.

Alternator Repair

The Alternator price depends entirely on the vehicle but for most domestic vehicles the cost for an alternator is around $250 to $500 and requires between 1 to 2 hours to replace. The cost for imports ranges from $400 to $1000 and the labour times can be between 1 to 3 hours. You can replace the alternator with a brand new OEM one, or a restored one. The restored one is usually a little bit cheaper – either way the choice is yours.

Water Pump Replacement

The cost depends on the type of car you drive and the auto repair shop you go to. Our mechanics are mobile, which means they don’t have the overhead that repair shops have. They provide you convenience by coming to your home or office.

Engine Repair

Have your engine inspected as soon as you notice any signs, as any problem will only become worse over time. A blinking Check Engine Light indicated a serious problem and you must stop driving the car and have it examined by a technician right away.

Fuel Injection

The fuel injector delivers fuel into the engine, either into the engine’s intake manifold or directly into the combustion chamber. Injectors can either be removed from the car and serviced, or be replaced with new injectors. When injectors are serviced, specialized equipment are necessary for cleaning and testing. The problem with the injector will determine whether they should be repaired or replaced.

Water Pump Replacement

If the water pump only has a small leak, you can still drive the vehicle. However, a little leak might all of a sudden expand, or the pump bearing might suddenly seize. Either scenario would likely trigger the engine to overheat. If a malfunctioning water pump triggers the overheating, your car will be unsafe to drive. The cost of service depends on the type of car you drive and the auto repair shop you go to. Our mechanics are mobile, which means they don’t have the overhead that repair shops have. They provide you convenience by coming to your home or office.

Spark Plug Repair

Spark plug repair should follow the maintenance schedule of the vehicle. It is ideal to replace the spark plugs every 50,000 kms in most of the vehicles. It is possible in a few cases that a spark plug can fail even before the service schedule, but that is rare. It is always good that you repair the spark plug wires at the same time, otherwise you can experience problems like engine misfires.

Spark Plug Repair costs between $100 to $200, which includes installation. This cost depends on the make and model of your vehicle.

Engine Oil Flush

One of the numerous significant functions of car engine oil is to maintain a clean engine by removing impurities and contamination. The amber colored brand new engine oil will turn black or get gritty as it dissolves dirt from the engine. In regular oil change, the oil is replaced that keeps the engine clean. In some cases, there is a residual sludge on the engine and the engine oil flush becomes essential. An engine oil flush is carried out during oil change and it helps cleaning the engine to keep it running smoothly.
